THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BRIEF
Every project begins with your ideas—your dreams, ambitions, and priorities. Our role is to translate these into a set of requirements and develop initial designs that respond to both your aspirations and the specific context of your site.
Once an initial design is agreed, it must be tested against estimated costs. During RIBA Stage 2, we may need to adjust the design to align with your budget while retaining the essence of your vision.
The outcome of this stage is The Brief: a combination of the concept design and the estimated construction cost. At the end of Stage 2, we present The Brief as a clear report, which acts as your formal instruction for us to proceed. This document is important—it establishes the agreed parameters for the project, ensures we avoid developing unaffordable designs, and provides the foundation against which we assess our fees for Stages 3–5.
