HOUSE FOR A VIOLINIST

A design that starts with music and takes form through the desire to create spaces of gathering and performance arranged vertically. This is a home for a violinist, a home that stretches across three grade II listed weavers’ cottages as part of a cliff face terrace with stunning views across the town and the Wiltshire landscape.

HAHA HOUSE

A house for a textile artist and a keen mid-century furniture collector rising from a dilapidated stone haha wall. Set within the rural fields of Somerset, internal spaces have been carved out from a series of interlocking volumes to create room to pause and reflect.  A home rich in material textures and craftsmanship that sits timelessly in its place.

THE VINTNERS

A home for a young family, full of connectivity, warmth and light. This conversion of a grade II listed former wine warehouse is now occupied by the laughter of children playing. The design is an exercise in crafting an unapologetic contemporary intervention against the raw and utilitarian fabric of the old warehouse.

B-HOUSE

B for Boring they said. The client that is, of their existing home. This is a rethink of an existing brick house that many would have most likely knocked down and instead built new. Driven by the desire to reduce waste, our design is an exercise in retrofit, careful re-organisation and re-dressing using dark stained larch battens, pigmented zinc and whitewashed brickwork.

MOUNTAIN FILM

Klas has travelled widely and loves the mountains and the sea. These elemental worlds bring the necessary balance to time spent in the studio. We think great design can only come from the iterative process of slowing down, to give oneself the space to consider, reflect and understand. This is a short film about how we seek out that space.

COPPICE HOUSE MILL – MODEL

This project seeks to bring back to life a dilapidated former mill warehouse over 5 floors - retaining the sense of height internally and aiming for the new insertions to read as something ‘dropped’ into the enclosure of the existing walls. This short film explores how this might be expressed through model making.
